Commemorative Print

We have just received delivery of a set of prints of the painting that we commissioned for construction of the memorial. The prints are printed on Brilliant supreme lustre photo paper using Epson Ultra Chrome K3 ink. We have two sizes available: 20x16 inches and 10x8 inches which are selling for £50 and £20 respectively. Due to popular demand, there are only 3 large prints left, but we have 50 of the smaller ones still available. There is one pencil sketch made by the artist sized 56cm by 73.5cm on a professional mounting which will cost £40. For the discriminating collector, the original painting is available at a cost of £450. Note that shipping will cost extra - £5 for the UK, but international rates will vary. Please contact Major Furlong for shipping costs.

The painting was complted by talented UK artist John Stevens MBE. John has been a professional artist since leaving the Royal Air Force in 1998. He has completed private and corporate commissions throughout Europe, Canada and the USA and exhibited with the Guild of Aviation artists in London, at the Paris Air Show, and at the Farnborough Air Show.

This original painting brings together the heritage of the Royal Canadian Air Force, those currently serving and the National Canadian Air Force Memorial into one piece. Depicting a Halifax of 405 (Vancouver) Squadron flying over the Memorial as a CP-140 Aurora of the same Squadron banks away, John has added their crest and that of 6 Group RCAF, part of Bomber Command. 405 were the first Canadian bomber Squadron formed in the UK and the only Canadian Pathfinder squadron, while 6 Group was the only independent Commonwealth air arm in the Second World War. The Memorial is the only National one to the Canadian Air Force of all eras in the United Kingdom so John was highly motivated to complete this work.
